Importing and Exporting Inventory

The Data Importer and Data Exporter tools allow users to import and export data between the system and external files or platforms.
These tools help automate data synchronization, manage large datasets, and maintain data consistency across systems.

They are commonly used for importing product data, inventory information, and exporting reports or system data.

Accessing Data Import Tools

To access these tools:

  1. Navigate to Tools & Utilities.
  2. Select Data Importer or Data Exporter from the menu.

Data Importer

The Data Importer allows users to upload CSV files or connect external sources to import data into the system.

This tool helps businesses quickly add or update large amounts of data.

Creating an Import Job

To create a new import job:

  1. Click Add New Importer.
  2. Upload the import file.
  3. Configure the import settings.
  4. Map the fields.
  5. Complete the setup process.

Import Setup

When configuring a new import job, the following options are available.

Import Source

Users can select where the import file will be uploaded from, such as:

  • Local device
  • Google Drive
  • Dropbox

Upload File

Upload the CSV file containing the data that will be imported into the system.

Field Separator

Defines the delimiter used in the CSV file.

Common separators include:

  • Comma (,)
  • Semicolon (;)

Import Model

The Import Model determines the type of data being imported.

Examples include:

  • Products
  • Listings
  • Inventory data

Field Mapping

During the Field Mapping step, users match the columns in the CSV file with the system fields.

This ensures that the data is imported correctly into the appropriate fields.

Import Advanced Settings

Advanced settings allow users to configure additional options such as validation rules or advanced processing behavior for the import job.

Import Schedule

Users can automate import processes by configuring an Import Schedule.

This allows the system to run imports automatically at scheduled intervals.

Import Log

The Import Log provides a history of all import operations performed in the system.

It helps users monitor imports and identify issues if a process fails.

The log includes information such as:

  • Import name
  • Import count
  • Failed import count
  • User who executed the import
  • Import source
  • Import status
  • Date and time of execution

Data Exporter

The Data Exporter allows users to export system data into external files.

Exported data can be used for reporting, analysis, backups, or integration with other systems.

Creating an Export Job

To create an export job:

  1. Click Add New Exporter.
  2. Configure the export settings.
  3. Select the data model.
  4. Configure field mapping.
  5. Save the export configuration.

Export Feed Settings

When creating an export configuration, users can define the export format and data settings.

Connection Method

Defines how the exported file will be delivered.

Examples include:

  • Download file
  • External connections

Data Separator

Specifies the delimiter used in the exported file.

Data Model

Defines which type of data will be exported from the system.

File Format

Users can select the format of the exported file depending on the integration or reporting needs.

Data Exporter – Reports & Logs

The Reports & Logs section displays all export activities performed in the system.

It includes detailed information such as:

  • Export type
  • Export progress
  • Export source
  • Export status
  • Creation date
  • Expiry date

Users can download exported files directly from this section.

Background Export Jobs

The Background Export Jobs section allows users to schedule automated export processes.

These jobs run automatically at defined intervals such as:

  • Every fifteen minutes
  • Hourly
  • Daily
  • Monthly

The table displays:

  • Export job name
  • Run interval
  • Successful executions
  • Failed executions
  • Next scheduled run
  • Job status

Users can enable or disable export jobs and modify their configurations.
