The Warehouse Transfers feature allows users to move inventory from one warehouse location to another within the system.
This functionality helps businesses manage stock distribution across multiple warehouses and ensures accurate inventory tracking between locations.
Accessing Warehouse Transfers
To access warehouse transfers:
- Navigate to Inventory Management.
- Click Warehouse Transfer from the left sidebar.
The page displays a list of all warehouse transfer records.
Warehouse Transfer List
The transfer list provides an overview of all inventory transfers between warehouses.
The table includes the following details:
- Transfer # – Unique identifier for the transfer.
- Transfer Date – Date when the transfer was created.
- Items – Products included in the transfer.
- From Location – Source warehouse.
- To Location – Destination warehouse.
- Status – Current transfer status.
- Actions – Available actions for managing the transfer.
Users can also filter transfers using the sidebar.
Transfer Status
Warehouse transfers can have several statuses depending on their progress.
Draft
The transfer has been created but not yet initiated.
Open
The transfer is active and items are being prepared.
In Transit
The items have been shipped and are currently moving between warehouses.
Received
The destination warehouse has received the transferred inventory.
Archived
The transfer has been archived and is no longer active.
Creating a Warehouse Transfer
To create a new transfer:
- Click Add Warehouse Transfer.
- Fill in the transfer information.
Transfer Details
The transfer form includes the following fields:
- Transfer Number – Automatically generated transfer identifier.
- Transfer Date – Date when the transfer is created.
- From Location – Warehouse where the products are being transferred from.
- To Location – Destination warehouse receiving the products.
Adding Products to a Transfer
Products must be added to the transfer before it can be processed.
To add products:
- Click Add Products.
- Select the products to transfer.
For each product, the system displays:
- SKU
- Product Name
- Stock on Hand
- Quantity
- Unit Cost
Users must enter the quantity that will be transferred between warehouses.
Marking Transfers as In Transit
After creating the transfer, users can mark the transfer as In Transit once the items leave the source warehouse.
This indicates that the inventory is currently moving between locations.
Receiving Transferred Inventory
When the destination warehouse receives the products:
- Click Receive from the transfer actions.
- Enter the Receipt Date.
- Optionally add a Tracking Number.
- Enter the received quantities for each item.
Users can also click Fill All Item Quantities to automatically fill the received quantities.
Once confirmed, the inventory is added to the destination warehouse.
Viewing Transfer Receipts
After the transfer is completed, users can view the transfer receipt details by selecting Show Receipts.
The receipt displays:
- Transfer number
- From location
- To location
- Receipt date
- Product quantities received
Managing Transfers
From the transfer list, users can manage transfers using the Actions menu.
Available actions include:
- Edit – Modify the transfer details.
- Mark as In Transit – Mark the transfer as shipped.
- Receive – Confirm inventory arrival.
- Archive – Archive completed transfers.
